Randhir Singh Elected President of Olympic Council of Asia

Singh has been acting president since 2021 due to the suspension of Kuwait's Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah. His priorities include unifying the OCA and enhancing marketing for the Asian Games.
Randhir Singh was elected president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on Sunday, marking a historic moment as the first Indian to hold the post. His four-year term highlights a unanimous decision by the assembly.
At 77, Singh has been serving as the acting president since 2021, stepping in for Kuwait's Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, who faces a 15-year ban from sports administration for ethics breaches. Alongside Singh, five vice presidents and five executive board members were also elected without opposition in the Indian capital.
Expressing his gratitude and vision, Singh, a five-time Olympian, emphasized unity within the OCA. "It's a great joy that everyone was elected unanimously," he told Reuters. Singh's agenda focuses on better marketing for the Asian Games and attracting more sponsors.
