India's Navdeep Singh clinched a historic gold medal in the men's javelin throw F41 category at the Paris Paralympics after Iran's Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified for displaying an objectionable flag. Navdeep's 47.32-meter throw, a personal and Paralympic best, initially earned him a silver, but was later upgraded.

The 23-year-old para-athlete from Haryana had finished fourth at the Tokyo Games, and this triumph marks India's first-ever gold in this category. Navdeep outperformed world record holder Sun Pengxiang from China, whose best throw was 44.72 meters, ultimately securing a silver.

Despite starting with a foul, Navdeep's subsequent monstrous throw electrified the stadium, propelling him to the top. The disqualification of Sadegh, who had temporarily led with a record 47.64-meter throw, elevated Navdeep to the gold podium. Iraq's Nukhailawi Wildan took the bronze with a throw of 40.46 meters.
