PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday confirmed that the upcoming home Test series against England will be held in Pakistan, dismissing rumors of a venue change due to ongoing stadium renovations. Naqvi assured, "No Tests will be played outside [the country]. Multan and Rawalpindi venues are final."
Earlier in the week, social media speculated a possible shift of the series to Sri Lanka or the UAE due to preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy. Naqvi revealed that construction work raised concerns, especially regarding player distractions from noise and dust. England's head coach Brendon McCullum echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of finalizing venues.
The three-Test series, part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle, will commence on October 7 in Multan, followed by matches in Karachi starting October 15, and concluding in Rawalpindi on October 24.
