Rahul Dravid Returns as Rajasthan Royals' Head Coach
Former India captain Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals on a multi-year contract ahead of the 2025 IPL season. Dravid, who previously spent five seasons with the team, will work closely with the team's Director of Cricket, Kumar Sangakkara.
Former India captain and coach Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach for Rajasthan Royals on a multi-year contract ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, the franchise announced on Friday.
Returning to Rajasthan, where he spent five seasons from 2011 to 2015, Dravid will collaborate with Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara. During his previous tenure, he captained the side in 2012 and 2013 and served as a mentor in 2014 and 2015.
'We are thrilled to bring Rahul back to the franchise. His exceptional coaching skills have transformed Indian cricket,' said Jake Lush McCrum, CEO of the Royals. Dravid led Rajasthan to a third-place finish in IPL 2015 and subsequently led India's U-19 team to a World Cup victory in 2018.
