Paralympic bronze medallist Deepthi Jeevanji received a warm welcome at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Friday. Jeevanji won the bronze in the women's 400m T20 final, marking her Paralympics debut.

The 21-year-old started strong but finished behind competitors from Ukraine and Turkey. Speaking to the press, she expressed happiness with public support and requested a government job and land to support her family. 'I aim to get a job and take care of my parents. My coaches worked very hard. I appeal to the government for a job and land,' she said.

Her father, Jeevanji Yadhagiri, thanked the Sports Authority of India (SAI) for their support. 'Deepthi brought recognition to our country. Despite health challenges, she won bronze. We hope the government will provide her a job,' he said. Deepthi clocked 55.82s for bronze, narrowly missing out on gold and silver. She had a spectacular run in the qualifiers, clocking 55.45s.
