History-making Indian archer Harvinder Singh's attempt to clinch a second medal at the Paris Paralympics ended in disappointment, as he and teammate Pooja Jatyan lost to Slovenia in a shoot-off for the recurve mixed team bronze medal.
Despite being outplayed by top-seeded Italy in the semifinals, fifth-seeded Harvinder and Pooja, both from Haryana, gave a strong performance but eventually succumbed to Ziva Lavrinc and Dejan Fabcic, losing 4-5 (19-17) in the bronze medal match.
The duo's quest saw moments of brilliance, including a comeback in the third set, but ultimately fell short as Slovenia clinched the match in a tense shoot-off. The pair had previously raised hopes by securing victories against teams from Australia and Poland in earlier rounds.
