On the opening day of the first match of the Duleep Trophy 2024 season, uncapped right-hand batter Musheer Khan delivered a spectacular century for India B against India A. At stumps on Day 1, India B finished at 202/7 in 79 overs, with Musheer (105) and Navdeep Saini (29) not out.

India A skipper Shubman Gill opted to bowl first after winning the toss, putting India B on the back foot early as they lost seven wickets for just 94 runs. Key players Yashasvi Jaiswal (30), Rishabh Pant (7), Sarfaraaz Khan (9), and Abhimanyu Easwaran (13) failed to deliver significant performances.

However, Musheer and Navdeep managed to turn the tide with an unbeaten partnership of 108 runs. Musheer scored 105 runs off 227 balls, hitting 10 fours and two sixes, while Navdeep contributed 29 runs from 74 balls, with four boundaries and a six.

For India A, bowlers Khaleel Ahmed, Akash Deep, and Avesh Khan each claimed two wickets, conceding 39, 28, and 42 runs respectively, while one wicket fell through a runout. Brief Score: India B 202/7 (Musheer Khan 105*, Yashasvi Jaiswal 30, Akash Deep 2/28) vs India A.

In the other match between India C and D, India C skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad chose to bowl first. India D were all out for 164, with Axar Patel top-scoring with 86 runs off 118 balls. Vijaykumar Vyshak was the standout bowler for India C, claiming three wickets for 19 runs.

At stumps, India C reached 91/4, with Abhishek Porel (32) and Baba Indrajit (15) unbeaten. For India D, Harshit Rana and Axar Patel took two wickets each.
