Indian archers Harvinder Singh and Pooja Jatyan delivered a stellar performance on Thursday, overpowering their higher-seeded Polish opponents in straight sets to advance to the semifinals of the recurve mixed team open category at the Paralympics.
In a face-off between the fourth and fifth seeds, Poland's Milena Olszewska and Lukasz Ciszek struggled with consistency, while Harvinder and Pooja maintained momentum, positioning the Indian duo just one win away from clinching a third archery medal for their country.
Harvinder had already made history, capturing India's first-ever gold in Paralympic archery. The match saw Harvinder and Pooja starting strong with a 35-32 victory in the opening set, maintaining their lead through the rounds to close out with a solid 36-32 win in the final set.
