Ireland vs Sri Lanka: Female Cricketers Nominated for ICC Player of the Month

Ireland Women captain Gaby Lewis and batter Orla Prendergast have been nominated for the Player of the Month (August) award, announced on Thursday. Sri Lanka Women cricketer Harshitha Samarawickrama has also been nominated for the same accolade.

Samarawickrama showcased her talent by delivering outstanding performances against Ireland in both the ODI and T20I series in August. Following an unbeaten 69* against India in late July, she impressed further in Dublin with scores of 86* and 65 in the T20I matches, becoming the leading run-scorer of the series.

Prendergast displayed her all-round capabilities with 67 runs and two wickets in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, and shined in the ODIs with a notable innings of 122* from 107 balls, earning her the Player of the Match award.

Lewis was in remarkable form during the T20I series, scoring 119 off 75 balls against Sri Lanka, contributing to Ireland's series-tying victory. Her performance featured 17 boundaries and two sixes.
