Indian para-archers Harvinder Singh and Pooja Jatyan progressed to the quarterfinals of the Mixed Team Recurve Open at the Paris Paralympics 2024 on Thursday. The duo defeated Australia's Amanda Jennings and Taymon Kenton-Smith 5-4. They will next face either France or Poland in the quarterfinals.

Wednesday saw Harvinder securing a historic gold medal, becoming the first Indian to win a medal in archery at both the Olympics and Paralympics. He triumphed 6-0 over Poland's Lukasz Ciszek in the individual recurve para-archery event. Harvinder also secured a bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020, marking his consecutive Paralympics success.

India's run at the Paralympics witnessed another highlight with para-athlete Sachin Khilari clinching silver in the men's shot put F46 final. His 16.32-metre throw, a new area best (AB), earned him the second spot. India, currently 15th in the medal tally, has garnered 24 medals so far, and the Indian contingent continues to strive for more glory.
