Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his congratulations to India's latest set of Paralympic medallists, hailing their remarkable performances at the ongoing Paris Paralympics.

In a heartfelt telephonic conversation, PM Modi spoke to Ajeet Singh Yadav, Sundar Singh Gurjar, Sharad Kumar, Mariyappan Thangavelu, and Deepthi Jeevanji, who have all secured medals in their respective events. The Prime Minister expressed his happiness over India's best-ever showing at the Paralympics and highlighted the inspiration these athletes have provided to the nation's youth.

India's medal tally in Paris has soared to an unprecedented 21, comprising three gold, eight silver, and ten bronze medals, with further opportunities to add more. This outstanding achievement surpasses their previous best of 19 medals in the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics. Notably, para-athletes Sachin Khilari, Avani Lekhara, and Preeti Pal have clinched top honours, among others, in a variety of sports.
