Khaleed Jamil, one of only two Indian coaches in the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL), has called for more appointments of Indian head coaches. Jamil believes that increased opportunities will help them grow and improve.

Standing out in a league dominated by Spanish coaches and players, Jamil, alongside Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, remains one of the few Indian head coaches. 'Kuchh feeling nahin hai, aap nazar mat lagao (I've not thought about it, you please don't jinx it),' he said, stressing the importance of responsibility and performance.

The youngest coach to acquire an AFC 'Pro' License, Jamil made history by leading Aizawl FC to their first I-League title in 2016-17. He joined Jamshedpur FC midway through the 2023-24 season and took them to the semi-finals of the Kalinga Super Cup, narrowly missing a playoff spot in the ISL.
