Left-arm seamer Josh Hull is set to make his England debut in the decisive third test against Sri Lanka, as announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board on Wednesday. Hull, aged 20, will step in for Matthew Potts in the final test of the Sri Lanka series, starting this Friday at The Oval.

England is looking to secure a 3-0 series sweep, following a commanding 190-run victory in the second test at Lord's. Leicestershire's Hull, who stands at six feet and seven inches, was also in the squad for the second test after Mark Wood suffered a thigh injury but did not feature in the game. Hull has been active, having played for the Lions in a warm-up match against Sri Lanka this August.

The England squad for the third test includes: Dan Lawrence, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (captain), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Olly Stone, Josh Hull, and Shoaib Bashir.
