Key Players Foden, Palmer, and Watkins Out for England’s Nations League Games
Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins, and Phil Foden are ruled out from England’s upcoming Nations League fixtures due to various reasons. Palmer and Watkins are returning to their clubs for rehabilitation, while Foden misses out due to illness. England faces Ireland and Finland in their next matches.
In a significant blow to England's Nations League ambitions, Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins, and Phil Foden have been sidelined for upcoming fixtures. The Football Association confirmed the news on Tuesday, citing various reasons for the players' absences.
Following assessments, both Palmer and Watkins have been sent back to their clubs to continue their rehabilitation from ongoing issues. The FA made this announcement after the squad reported to St George's Park for preparations.
Meanwhile, interim England manager Lee Carsley faces another setback as 24-year-old Foden, who was summoned for the squad, has been ruled out due to illness. England is set to face Ireland in Dublin on September 7 and will take on Finland at Wembley three days later.
