Asian Games silver-medallist marksman Lakshay Sheoran fought off a strong challenge to emerge winner in the Manav Rachna Open Trap Shooting Championship in Faridabad.

The 25-year-old marksman, who bagged a silver medal at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, shot an impressive 46 out of 50 in the final round, securing victory against Ahvar Rizvi, who scored 45, and Bakhtiyar Malik, who managed 35.

Sheoran was awarded a prize money of Rs 50,000 for his performance, while Rizvi and Malik took home Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. A total of 36 shooters from across India competed in the championship, with Sheoran finishing second in the qualifications with a score of 71/75. Other finalists included Aryavansh Tyagi, Jaswinder, and Mohit Parashar.
