Sharjah Warriorz have announced former South African cricketer JP Duminy as the new head coach for the third season of the International League T20 (ILT20). Duminy succeeds fellow Proteas cricketer Johan Botha, who led the team admirably in the previous season.

Duminy, known for his dynamic batting, was the batting coach for the Warriorz in the last edition. The 40-year-old has played 345 T20 matches, scoring 8,331 runs with a strike rate of over 120. As a right-arm off-break bowler, he has also taken 99 wickets in his career.

Duminy has extensive experience in franchise cricket, having played in the IPL, CPL, and Pakistan Super League. He has represented teams like Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Islamabad United, among others. Earlier this year, Duminy was the batting coach for South Africa's white-ball teams, which performed impressively at the ODI World Cup. He also held coaching roles with the Paarl Royals and Boland Rocks.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Duminy said, 'I am delighted to take up the challenge of being the Head Coach with the Sharjah Warriorz. This set-up is vibrant and full of optimism. We look forward to building a strong squad for the upcoming season.'
