As the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaches, excitement among Australian cricketers is palpable. Glenn Maxwell, in a conversation with Star Sports, set the stage for what promises to be a thrilling contest, highlighting the global significance of the India-Australia rivalry and their frequent jostling for the top international rankings.

"Over the last few years, the two teams have often swapped places in the rankings," Maxwell told Star Sports. "Whichever format it is, you will always see these two teams at number one." He also emphasized the intensity of their encounters, adding, "The different contests in both countries provide many highlights. It's always must-watch cricket."

The series kicks off on November 22, with the second Test featuring a day-night format at Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10. Following that, the series moves to The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14 to 18. The Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground and the final Test at Sydney from January 3 to 7 will conclude the five-match series.

India aims to continue their impressive record in Australia, having won the last two series in 2018-19 and 2020-21. A third consecutive win would mark a historic achievement on Australian soil.
