Indian athlete Yogesh Kathuniya earned his second consecutive Paralympic silver medal in the men's discus throw F-56 event, delivering a season's best 42.22m throw at the ongoing Games on Monday.
At 29 years old, Kathuniya replicated his Tokyo Paralympics success from three years ago. The gold medal was clinched by Brazil's Claudiney Batista dos Santos, who set a new Games record with a 46.86m throw in his fifth attempt. Greece's Konstantinos Tzounis took home the bronze, reaching 41.32m.
The F-56 event is a seating field event class designed for differently-abled athletes, including those with amputations and spinal cord injuries.
