In a historic feat at Lord's Stadium, England pacer Gus Atkinson became just the third player to achieve the rare double of scoring a century and taking a five-wicket haul at the iconic venue. By accomplishing this, Atkinson tied with legendary all-rounder Ian Botham for a unique record.

Atkinson played a key role in England's 190-run victory against Sri Lanka, securing them the three-match series with a 2-0 lead. He scored his maiden professional century, amassing 118 runs off 115 balls with 14 fours and four sixes, while also delivering a standout performance with the ball, securing figures of 2/40 and 5/62.

This remarkable performance places Atkinson alongside India's Vinoo Mankad (1952) and Botham (1978) as the only cricketers to achieve such a double at Lord's. In just two Tests at this venue, Atkinson's record includes 19 wickets and three five-wicket hauls, highlighting his impressive summer at the 'Home of Cricket'.
