Manisha Ramadass assured India of a second medal from the badminton courts by setting up the women's singles SU5 semifinal with compatriot Thulasimathi Murugesan. However, star shooter Avani Lekhara missed out on repeating her medal-winning feat at the Paris Paralympics on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Manisha, who was born with Erb's palsy affecting her right arm, easily dispatched Japan's Mamiko Toyoda 21-13, 21-16 in the quarterfinals. The second-seeded Indian needed just 30 minutes to defeat her unseeded rival.

In the men's SL3 category, Nitesh Kumar will face Japan's Daisuke Fujihara in the semifinal, while the shooting range saw mixed fortunes for Indian participants. Avani Lekhara, coming off a historic gold medal, finished 11th in mixed 10m air rifle prone SH1 qualification, failing to make the final.
