With the mega auction for IPL 2025 approaching, uncertainty surrounds Rohit's future. Rumors suggest he might leave Mumbai Indians. Rhodes, who has closely observed the seasoned batter's progress, commended Rohit's skills but emphasized that his inclusion in LSG isn't mandatory for the team's success.

'For a long time at Mumbai Indians, I felt I had the best job in the world. I got to watch Rohit Sharma practice and play cricket. He is so elegant,' Rhodes told ANI. He added that the balance of the team is crucial and that changes should not disrupt the existing setup. Meanwhile, reports also indicate uncertainty over LSG skipper KL Rahul's future, following alleged rebukes from franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka after a recent loss. Rhodes expressed relief that he isn't responsible for player retention decisions.
