Indian shuttler Mandeep Kaur secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the women's singles SL 3 category at the Paris Paralympics, triumphing over Australia's Vinot Celine Aurelie. Despite an initial setback against Nigeria's Bolaji Mariam, Kaur regrouped to claim victory in her final group B match with scores of 21-23, 21-10, and 21-17.

Mandeep's win ensured she finished second in her three-player group B, earning her a place in the quarterfinals. Mariam, who topped the group, advanced directly to the semifinals. Meanwhile, the top performers from groups A and C moved straight to the semifinals, while the second-place finishers in groups A and C, along with the top two in group B, will compete in the quarterfinals for the remaining semifinal spots.

The SL3 class is designated for players with severe lower limb disabilities who play on a half-width court. In other late-night matches on Friday, Suhas Yathiraj and Palak Kohli fell in their mixed doubles SL3 contest to the top-seeded Indonesian pair, while Nitesh Kumar and Thulasimathi Murugesan narrowly lost to their French counterparts. However, India's Nithya Sivan Sumathy and Sivarajan Solaimalai secured a mixed doubles win against Thailand.

On Saturday, Indian shuttlers Nitesh Kumar, Krishna Nagar, Manoj Sarkar, Sukant Kadam, Sivarajan Solaimalai, and Tarun will compete in various men's singles categories. In the women's singles, Manisha Ramdass and Nithya Sivan Sumathy will present their challenge.
