Arsenal Secure Raheem Sterling on Loan from Chelsea
Arsenal have signed Chelsea's Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan. Sterling, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £50 million in 2022, was sidelined by Chelsea's new manager Enzo Maresca. Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, having previously worked with Sterling, sees the winger enhancing their left-wing options alongside Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal have secured the services of Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan, as officially announced by both Premier League clubs early Saturday. The England international found himself marginalized at Chelsea under new manager Enzo Maresca.
Despite the deal missing Friday's 11 p.m. deadline, a submitted deal sheet granted a two-hour extension, enabling Arsenal to finalize Sterling's loan. Sterling's arrival will bolster Arsenal's left-wing options, where he will compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, had voiced his admiration for Sterling, having previously coached him at Manchester City. This marks Arsenal's fourth signing this summer after David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori, and Mikel Merino.
