In a gripping encounter on Friday, Manav Thakkar led U Mumba TT to a thrilling 8-7 victory over the seasoned Chennai Lions in the Ultimate Table Tennis 2024 league. U Mumba TT's win jumps them to the second spot on the table with 29 points, leaving Chennai Lions at 19 points.

The day's second tie saw Dabang Delhi TTC, steered by the stellar Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, best Puneri Paltan Table Tennis with an impressive 11-4 scoreline. In a battle of youth versus experience, Thakkar showed resilience by staging a remarkable comeback against Achanta Sharath Kamal to secure a 6-11, 11-8, 11-9 victory, maintaining his unbeaten record this season.
