Indian shooter Avani Lekhara delivered another standout performance by qualifying in second place for the Women's 10m air rifle final (SH1) at the Paris Paralympics on Friday. The achievement raises hopes for a repeat of her Tokyo Games triumph, where she clinched the gold medal.

Joining her in the final is compatriot Mona Agarwal, who secured the fifth spot. Agarwal has been in excellent form over the past year, enhancing India's chances of winning multiple medals in the event.

Avani, who became wheelchair-bound after a car accident at age 11, made history as the first Indian woman shooter to win medals in shooting at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021. She followed up her gold in the 10m air rifle with a bronze in the 50m rifle 3-positions.
