Indian para-shuttlers, including Tokyo silver medallist Suhas Yathiraj, delivered stellar performances at the Paris Paralympics. Eight singles players secured victories in their respective opening group matches on Thursday.
In the SL4 category, Suhas, Sukant Kadam, and Tarun triumphed in their opening matches. Additionally, Nitesh Kumar (SL3), Palak Kohli (SL4), Thulasimathi Murugesan (SU5), Manisha Ramadass (SU5), and Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan (SH6) also progressed past their first hurdles.
A notable highlight was Sukant Kadam's gritty comeback against Malaysia's Mohammed Amin Burhanuddin. The 31-year-old, overcoming a past knee injury, showed exceptional resolve to claim a 17-21, 21-15, 22-20 victory in his Group B match.
