Liverpool has officially signed Italy forward Federico Chiesa from Juventus on a long-term contract, the clubs announced Thursday. The deal is valued at 12 million euros ($13.30 million) with an additional 3 million in add-ons for the 26-year-old, whose Juventus contract was set to expire in 2025.

Chiesa had suffered a severe knee injury in 2022, sidelining him for 10 months. Despite this, he made an impressive comeback last season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 37 appearances for Juventus across all competitions. Over four seasons, he scored 32 goals in 131 appearances for the Turin-based club, initially arriving on loan from Fiorentina in 2020.

Expressing his excitement, Chiesa said, "I'm so happy to be a Liverpool player. When sporting director Richard Hughes called me, and then the coach, I immediately said yes because of the club's history and what it represents to the fans." Chiesa has also scored seven goals in 51 caps for Italy and was part of the Euro 2020 title-winning side.
