Bournemouth have secured the services of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan, the clubs announced on Thursday. The 29-year-old has also extended his contract with Chelsea until 2026, ensuring he won't leave on a free transfer post-loan.
Last season, Kepa was loaned to Real Madrid, where he made 20 appearances, stepping in for the injured Thibaut Courtois and played a pivotal role in the team winning La Liga and the Champions League.
Kepa joined Chelsea in August 2018 for a record £71 million ($93.61 million), becoming the world's most expensive goalkeeper. During his tenure, he helped Chelsea clinch the Europa League in 2019, the Champions League in 2021, and the Club World Cup in 2022.
