Remembering Sven-Goran Eriksson: Legendary Football Manager Passes Away at 76

Iconic football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, who holds the distinction of being the first foreigner to manage the England national team, died on Monday at the age of 76, his agent confirmed.

Eriksson, who notably led Swedish, Portuguese, and Italian clubs to major triumphs in the 1980s and 1990s before taking the England position in 2001, had revealed earlier this year that he was battling terminal pancreatic cancer. Bo Gustavsson, Eriksson's agent, announced his passing on Monday morning.

Eriksson guided England to quarter-final berths in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, as well as the 2004 European Championship, overseeing a roster that included luminaries like David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, and Steven Gerrard.
