Legendary para-athlete Devendra Jhajharia has expressed confidence that star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will soon break the elusive 90m mark, predicting a potential throw of 93m within the next one to two years.
Chopra, who secured a silver medal at the Paris Olympics with an 89.45m throw, recently finished second in the Lausanne Diamond League with an 89.49m throw, trailing behind Grenada's Anderson Peters' 90.61m. Jhajharia, a two-time Paralympics gold medalist, believes Chopra could surpass the 90m barrier by a significant margin.
Jhajharia noted that Chopra's discipline and dedication, coupled with his age, make him likely to reach his peak performance within the next two years. Chopra, turning 27 in December, is expected to hit his prime around the age of 28 or 29.
