Satya Prakash Sangwan, vice-president of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), has been appointed as the Indian contingent's Chef-De-Mission for Paris Paralympics 2024. Sangwan aims for 25-30 medals, including 8-10 gold medals, in the event scheduled to begin on August 28.

PCI announced Sangwan's appointment on Tuesday, praising his decade-long dedicated service to the Paralympic movement. Expressing his gratitude, Sangwan told ANI, 'This is a historic day for me. I am thankful to PCI and the central government for considering me for this role.'

Sangwan highlighted India's rising success in the Paralympics, referencing the four medals in 2016 and 19 medals in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. India will send its largest-ever contingent of 84 para-athletes across 12 sports disciplines. As Chef-De-Mission, Sangwan's leadership will be crucial for the team's success, ensuring robust preparation and support.
