Hubli Tigers clinched their fourth consecutive victory by defeating the Shivamogga Lions by eight wickets in the Maharaja Trophy at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. An explosive 35 off 12 balls by Mohd Taha powered the Tigers to chase down a revised target of 51 runs in just five overs.
Captivating the crowd early, Taha slammed two sixes off Vasuki Kaushik in the opening over and continued his onslaught against Hardik Raj, hitting three consecutive sixes and a boundary in the third over. Despite being dismissed in the fourth over, KL Shrijith (8*) and Manish Pandey (4*) ensured an easy Tigers' victory with 10 balls to spare.
Shivamogga Lions struggled from the start, managing only 15 runs in their initial five overs. The ordeal worsened with early dismissals and a rain delay that reduced the match to 17 overs a side. Hardik Raj and S Shivraj's late efforts gave the Lions some hope, but they eventually finished with 137/8 in their limited overs.
