New Liverpool boss Arne Slot said his side were a joy to watch in the second half of their 2-0 Premier League opening victory at Ipswich Town, marking a winning start for the Dutchman in charge of the Merseysiders. After a challenging first half against newly-promoted Ipswich, Liverpool impressed in the Portman Road sunshine, securing the win with goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.

Slot, Juergen Klopp's successor, became only the second Liverpool manager in the Premier League era to win on his league debut, following Gerard Houllier in 1998. 'The first taste of Premier League football was maybe as expected because they were all on top of us, very aggressive. The second half was a joy to watch,' Slot told TNT Sports.

Salah's second goal took him to nine goals in the opening rounds of Premier League seasons, a record. Despite his pivotal role, Slot stressed the importance of team effort over individual reliance. 'I believe in the team more than the individual,' Slot added.
