Jannik Sinner Gears Up for Cincinnati Open Despite Hip Concerns
Jannik Sinner is preparing for the Cincinnati Open despite ongoing hip issues. The 22-year-old tennis star has been struggling since a May injury but remains optimistic. He also aims to build confidence for the upcoming U.S. Open, seeing the Cincinnati Open as a crucial test.
Tennis star Jannik Sinner has said he is not overly worried about a lingering hip issue as he prepares for the Cincinnati Open this week. The 22-year-old, who has been dealing with the injury since May, aims to gain confidence for the upcoming U.S. Open.
Sinner attributed his recent struggles to the heavy match schedule, which was compounded by his skipping the Paris Olympics due to tonsillitis. 'I feel quite good. Obviously, I made nearly one week without practicing before, and then after playing for two-three days in a row, a bit more than usual, (that) could (have had) a potential impact to the hip,' Sinner explained.
As Sinner prepares for the Cincinnati Open, where he has historically faced challenges, he remains optimistic. 'I believe this tournament can give you a lot of confidence for the U.S. Open,' he remarked, adding that he is taking it day by day and eager to showcase good tennis.
