Indian Olympic Association (IOA) chief PT Usha revealed that before finalizing Sreejesh, she had consulted with Neeraj Chopra. The superstar javelin thrower, who recently secured a silver medal, expressed his support for Sreejesh's nomination as flag-bearer, reflecting the immense respect he holds for the retiring hockey legend.

Sreejesh's illustrious career came to an end after India's bronze medal win at the ongoing Games, marking an 18-year journey in the sport.
