Wrestler Antim Panghal is set to receive a three-year ban from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for a serious breach of conduct. She attempted to use her accreditation card to facilitate her sister's entry into the athletes' village, a source informed PTI on Thursday.

Panghal, who was eliminated from the Olympics after losing her opening bout in the women's 53kg category, will face formal consequences once she returns to India. This decision was prompted by a complaint from French authorities who discovered the impersonation.

The IOA has already decided to send Panghal and her support staff back home. Her sister, caught impersonating an athlete, was taken to a police station to provide a statement, heightening the severity of the disciplinary measures taken.
