At 21, Sehrawat, an Asian Championship gold medallist and the sole male wrestler from India to qualify for the Olympics, displayed extraordinary agility and robust defense. He consistently overpowered his 29-year-old opponent, a former European champion, using leg holds to clinch the match with technical superiority at 10-0.
Egorov struggled after the first round, even requiring medical attention for his knee following Sehrawat's aggressive moves. However, he couldn't mount a comeback as Sehrawat executed a decisive takedown, gaining two more points to lead 10-0 with over two minutes remaining.
Sehrawat's semifinal bout is scheduled for later in the day.
