Norwegian cross-country skiing icon, Therese Johaug, has declared her intention to return to competitive skiing. The 36-year-old, who clinched three gold medals at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, had previously retired to focus on starting a family. Johaug, now a mother, will aim to compete in next year's Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim.
Speaking at a press conference, Johaug shared that her retirement was not due to a lack of passion for the sport. "I loved what I was doing, but the desire and dream of becoming a mother was so strong that it was worth retiring," she revealed.
Johaug boasts an illustrious career with four Olympic golds and 14 world championship titles. Her return promises to be a highlight in the world of cross-country skiing.
