Miltiadis Tentoglou Triumphs Again with Olympic Gold in Long Jump

Miltiadis Tentoglou flexed his biceps, draped the Greek flag over his shoulders, and stared into the clear night sky above the packed Stade de France. His victory marks a historic moment as he became only the second man after Carl Lewis to clinch two consecutive Olympic long jump titles. Tentoglou added the gold at the 2024 Games to his previous win from Tokyo three years ago.

"It's a great achievement," Tentoglou stated, who also claimed the world title last year. Acknowledging the momentous victory, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis extended his congratulations on social media. Tentoglou's win marked Greece's first gold medal at the Paris Games.

Wayne Pinnock from Jamaica secured silver with a jump of 8.36 meters, while Italian Mattia Furlani took the bronze with 8.34 meters. Pinnock praised Tentoglou's professionalism, saying, "He knows how to compete and you just can't take that from him." Despite the younger competition emerging, Tentoglou eyes future Olympics, including the LA 2028 Games.
