India's skeet mixed team, comprising Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Maheshwari Chauhan, has earned a spot in the bronze medal match at the Paris 2024 Olympics after scoring 146/150 in the qualification round. Maheshwari Chauhan showcased an impeccable performance, scoring a perfect 50/50 in her final two rounds, while Naruka posted scores of 25, 23, and 24, as reported by Olympics.com. Their efforts landed them in 4th place in the qualification round.

The Indian duo will face the People's Republic of China in the mixed skeet bronze medal match today at 6:30 PM IST in Chateauroux. Meanwhile, Italy's Gabriele Rossetti and Diana Bacosi matched the world qualification record with a score of 149/150 and will compete for gold against Paris 2024 medalists Vincent Hancock and Austen Jewell Smith of the USA.

India has secured three medals in shooting at the Paris 2024 Olympics, all of which are bronze. Manu Bhaker clinched the first medal in the women's 10m air pistol event, becoming India's first-ever female shooter to win an Olympic medal in this category. Following that, Sarabjot Singh and Bhaker won bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking India's first medal in team shooting, and Swapnil Kusale earned bronze in the men's 50m rifle 3P event, making him the first Indian shooter to medal in this category. This remarkable feat has made the current Olympics India's best-ever performance in shooting.

Prior to this, India's top performance in shooting was at the 2012 London Olympics, where Vijay Kumar won silver in the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol event and Gagan Narang secured bronze in the men's 10m air rifle event. India's inaugural shooting medal was won by Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore with silver in the men's double trap event at the 2004 Athens Olympics. This was followed by Abhinav Bindra's historic gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle at the Beijing Olympics, marking the country's first-ever individual gold in any sport.
