Star shooter Manu Bhaker, who created history by winning two bronze medals at the Paris Games, will be India's flag bearer at the Olympic closing ceremony on Sunday.

Manu opened India's medal account by securing a bronze in the individual 10m air pistol event, making her the first Indian markswoman to win an Olympic medal. She then teamed up with Sarabjot Singh to snatch another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.

'Yes, Manu has been chosen to be the flag bearer. She has performed exceptionally well and deserves the honor,' a representative from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) informed PTI. The 22-year-old shooter expressed her pride, stating earlier that it would be a significant honor to be the flag bearer. The IOA has yet to name a male flag bearer but is likely to do so soon.

In addition to Manu's achievements, fellow shooter Swapnil Kushale secured India's third bronze in the men's 50m Rifle Three Positions. With shuttler Lakshya Sen competing for bronze on Monday and the men's hockey team advancing to the semifinals, India's campaign remains robust. Wrestler Nisha Dahiya will begin her quest for a medal today, while reigning Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra will start competing on August 6.
