Sri Lanka leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay captured his maiden six-wicket haul in one-day internationals, steering his team to a 32-run victory over India in the second game of the three-match series held in Colombo on Sunday.

After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka faced challenges from Indian seamer Mohammed Siraj, who claimed opener Pathum Nissanka with the first ball. However, Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis stabilized the inning with a 74-run partnership. Lower-order contributions from Dunith Wellalage and Kamindu Mendis helped Sri Lanka post a total of 240-9.

India's chase began promisingly with captain Rohit Sharma scoring 64 runs off 44 balls before falling to Vandersay. Despite a spirited effort from Axar Patel, who scored run-a-ball 44, India's middle-order faltered, culminating in a total of 208. Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka also played a pivotal role with three wickets, while Vandersay's exceptional bowling earned him significant praise.
