A confident Manu Bhaker placed herself in contention for a second Olympic medal as she combined with Sarabjot Singh to make the bronze playoff of the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Arjun Babuta succumbed to pressure, finishing fourth in the men's 10m air rifle competition on Monday.

Ramita Jindal ended seventh in the women's 10m air rifle final, shooting a score of 145.3. Babuta, who shot a total of 208.4 in the air rifle individual final, saw his hopes dashed with a last shot of 9.5 compared to his competitor's 10.7.

Bhaker, coming off a historic bronze in the 10m women's air pistol event, and Sarabjot Singh scored 580 to advance to the medal round, facing Korea's Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho next.
