Indian shooter Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the 10 Metre Women's Air Pistol event at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Sunday, marking a historic moment as she became the first Indian woman to win a medal in this category at the Olympics.
Bhaker's coach, Ronak Pandit, commended her hard work and stellar performance throughout the event. "My heartiest congratulations to Manu. She has worked really, really hard for this and her shooting was brilliant," Pandit told ANI.
This victory comes as a redemption for Bhaker after her pistol malfunctioned at the Tokyo Olympics. Notably, she is the first Indian woman in 20 years to reach the shooting final in an individual Olympic event since Suma Shirur in 2004.
