India's top-ranked table tennis player Sreeja Akula advanced to the round of 32 with a commanding 4-0 victory over Sweden's Christina Kallberg at the Paris Olympics on Sunday. Sreeja, who previously made history as the first Indian paddler to clinch a WTT Contender singles title, showcased her skill in a swift 30-minute match.

The Indian athlete showed minimal difficulty in the opening set, although Kallberg put up a more robust challenge in the second. Both competitors fought neck-and-neck until Sreeja seized control at 7-5 in the third set to clinch it. The fourth set saw Sreeja taking an early 9-3 lead; despite some unforced errors and Kallberg's resilience, Sreeja finished with a commanding forehand to secure the match.

In other events scheduled for the day, Manika Batra is set to face Britain's Anna Hursey, and veteran paddler Sharath Kamal will compete against Slovenia's Deni Kozul.
