Video game voice actors and motion-capture performers have launched a strike over unsuccessful contract negotiations pertaining to AI-related worker protections. This move coincides with the eagerly anticipated San Diego Comic-Con, where fans returned after last year's dual writers and actors strikes.

Ray Rodriguez, SAG-AFTRA's chief contracts officer, expressed frustrations over long-pending proposals that didn't safeguard members from unethical AI use. 'At a certain point, you can't just keep doing what hasn't been working,' Rodriguez told Reuters.

Despite the ongoing dispute, major video game companies proceeded with their convention plans. EA Games notably announced the voice cast for 'Dragon Age: The Voices of the Vanguard,' featuring prominent actors from the industry.
