Axar Patel has praised new T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav, describing him as a captain who grants bowlers the liberty to execute their strategies. Patel's remarks came after India's commanding 43-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first match of a three-game series.

"I played in the last Australia series with Surya bhai (as captain). I know that he is a bowlers' captain. He gives you free hand (in a way) that you decide first," Patel said during a post-match press conference.
