Indian Shooters Fall Short in Olympic Qualifications, Despite Promising Moments

Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema showcased flashes of brilliance but ultimately fell short in the men's 10m air pistol qualifications at the Olympics on Saturday. Sarabjot finished ninth with a total of 577 points, and Arjun ended up in 18th place with 574 points.
Germany's Robin Walter, who also shot 577, clinched the eighth qualifying spot due to a higher number of inner 10s. Sarabjot surged into the top-three with a flawless 100 in the fourth series but couldn't maintain his pace. Cheema displayed a strong series of shots but lost momentum, ending in 10th place.
In the mixed rifle team event, Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta narrowly missed the medal round, placing sixth with a score of 628.7. Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh ended 12th with 626.3 points. Chinese shooters dominated the event, taking the first gold medal of the Games.
