Renault's Alpine Formula One team is set to experience its fifth leadership change in four years, following the announcement that team principal Bruno Famin will depart by the end of August. This shift continues a pattern of frequent changes at the helm since early 2021.

Famin, who assumed the role just a year ago, will transition to oversee other Renault Group motorsport activities at the Viry-Chatillon factory. His predecessor, Otmar Szafnauer, took over from Laurent Rossi in February 2022, who in turn followed Cyril Abiteboul. The instability stands in contrast to the consistent leadership at rival teams Red Bull and Mercedes.

Media reports suggest that Briton Oliver Oakes, founder of Hitech GP teams, may replace Famin. As Formula One heads into its August break, Alpine, a team with a storied past, finds itself only eighth in the standings this season after lackluster performances.
