Tennis sensation Coco Gauff is set to join basketball legend LeBron James as a flag bearer for the US Olympic team at the upcoming Paris Games. Gauff, who recently clinched the US Open title, will be making her Olympic debut, marking a historic moment as the first tennis player to carry the US flag.

Though Gauff earned a spot on the American team for the Tokyo Games three years ago, she was unable to compete due to a positive COVID-19 test. Now, at 20 years old, she stands as a Grand Slam champion, having won titles in New York and at the French Open.

The Paris Olympics will see matches played on the same clay courts at Roland Garros used for the French Open. Gauff is seeded No. 2 in singles and, along with her doubles partner Jessica Pegula, seeded No. 1 in women's doubles. There is a possibility she may also compete in mixed doubles.
